Whole ‘Latte’ To Do

This morning was one of those mornings it felt like I had a million and three things to do. It felt like I had so many things to do that I just didn’t want to do any of them. Instead, I gave myself something to savor and get myself going: a latte. Now not a “real” latte. I’m not paying $4+ for a coffee. Not happening. I made it myself. At home.

A latte is just espresso (or strong coffee, in my house) and steamed, frothy milk. Pretty simple, right? Because of the extra steps, it’s not something I make every day, but it is a nice treat and pick-me-up on days like today.


1/2 cup milk (the fattier, the better the froth)
3 tablespoons French vanilla creamer (or honey)
1/2 teaspoon spices (ex: cinnamon, pumpkin spice) *optional
1/2 cup strong coffee

In a small sauce pan, heat everything except the coffee until bubbles form along the edge of the pan.
Remove from heat.
Using an immersion blender, froth the milk.
Pour into coffee cup.
Gently pour coffee into milk.
Sprinkle with more spice.

Now back to reality…
